Outlook 2013 or 2016 Configuration Instructions

  1. Start Outlook
  2. Select the File menu:

  3. Select Info and Add Account:

  4. Choose Manual setup or additional server types and select Next:

  5. Choose POP or IMAP and select Next:
  6. On the Account Settings window, enter the following information:
    1. Your Name: this is the name recipients will see in the From box when you send email.  You can use your first and last name, or your agency name, for example
    2. Email Address: your full NexCite email address
    3. Account Type: choose POP3 from the drop-down (Not IMAP)
    4. Incoming Mail Server:
    5. Outgoing Mail Server:
    6. User Name: your full NexCite email address
    7. Password: the password assigned to your NexCite email account (leave box checked to remember password)
  7. Select the More Settings button:

  8. Select the Outgoing Server tab:
    1. Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox
    2. Select Use the same settings as my incoming mail server
  9. Click the Advanced tab and complete the following: 
    1. Incoming Server (POP3): 995
    2. Check the box for "Use the following type of encrypted connection:  SSL/TLS"
    3. Outgoing Server (SMTP): 465
    4. Select  SSL/TLS from the "Use the following type of encrypted connection" drop-down
    5. Check the box for "Leave a copy of messages on the server"
    6. Check the box for "Remove from server after X days" and set to 7
  10. Click the OK button
  11. Click Next on the E-mail Accounts window
  12. Click the Finish button
